My folks celebrated their 50th anniversary this summer. Since January '09 we've been through a dozen variations on the theme of how we would celebrate. In May they were all discarded. A friend (thx Lor!!) suggested we make them a Memory Book. So that became the plan. Late May, we sent out a letter to their Christmas list, asking folks to send stuff to my sis who would scrap pages, along with her daughter, for their gift.
I wanted to play too and began searching for supplies. I am sure there are some here in Romania, but I couldn't find them. I did find some European sources on the internet, but half our mail never seems to make it here. This discouraged me from placing an order for supplies for traditional scrapping. Finally I noticed digital scrap in my searches. I found free software (Thank you ScrapbookFlair.) which allowed me to do some of what I desired.
Now my hubby has purchased me Photoshop which I'll be installing on the computer I'll get, Lord willing, this fall. I'll post some of those early, not so great pages made for the folks' album. They're not great and I had almost no stock to choose from at that time. I was on a deadline: create, print and mail in time for their anniverary June 30.
The end result? The folks say it's better than any of the parties, renewing vows, cruises, that we considered. They can look at this book again and again. What a blessing!
